Suffered some losses on the way to Veilstone, negating one of the catches outright with Ponyta. Still keeping the Eevee an open option at this point, I've always wanted to attempt a use of Flareon and Sinnoh actually has decent opportunities for fire types comparatively, but depending on later catches I might need a Jolteon for some reliability.
Will probably grind up a Bronzong and see if I can get a Houndour or something meanwhile.
Maylene was okay, Spell Tag shadow sneak let Duskull handle the Meditite/Machoke with confusion on the side. Then I switched into my own Meditite for a Hi Jump Kick to get that Lucario down ASAP, finally got Golduck after moving from the gym also
