A friend who live in Strasbourg (and thus really close to Germany) estimated the road trip to cost ~$200, and that doesn't include the hotel, and neither of us know german. A trip to England would be more expensive.
We can afford it but decided it's not worth it, and we wouldn't have really enjoyed it anyway.
