>>18268944Miltank's not terrible. It's only terrible is you try to make it into a Blissey, like Smogon tells you to. No, rather, with max Defense it makes a fine physical version of Blissey. Thought it is weaker, all 3 of its abilities are amazing: Scrappy allows you to hit everything in the game with just Body Slam; Sap Sipper makes it immune to Leech Seed and Sleep Powder/Grass attacks; Thick Fat helps you take powerful Ice Beams and Flare Blitzes like a champ. It's a great bulky pivot/cleric and it does things no other Normal can boast in one package.
Swellow is an interesting case. Like Staraptor, it dies pretty much to a single strong attack. However, like Staraptor, it also hits like a truck, albiet when statused. Facade, Brave Bird, Steel Wing are great, and even an uninvested Boomburst has great utility in attacking behind Substitute. It's also extremely fast, so you don't need to Scarf it. The biggest issue is that it can't quite do it all on its own. Running two birds on one team can be a great strategy, though.
