Booyeah! Ambagesque the shiny Tangrowth really helped out here.
I had it lead out against Politoed, hoping to get rid of it quickly. Poli moved first, and hit with Hypnosis, quickly followed by Perish Song. The next couple turns were a desperate attempt to heal and wake up (I had no Full Restores). Eventually, we both switched out, but Ambagesque woke up right before the end and got off a Power Whip, weakening Poli.
Next out were Gladius and Tentacruel. Gladius had no issues Thunderpunching Tenta into death.
Politoed returned to face its old rival, Ambagesque. Before anything else, Poli used Ice Beam. It wasn't nearly fatal, but it froze Ambagesque in his tracks. Another Perish Song standoff ensued, after which both parties withdrew.
Out came Gladius and Ludicolo. Gladius, King's Rock in hand, successfully paralyzed with Thunderpunch and Paraflinched the poor bastard to death.
Equineus came out against Carracosta. A Horn Leech took Carra to 1HP thanks to sturdy, and Carra's Ice Beam took Equineus down a notch. What I didn't expect was Carracosta's speed berry, which allowed for a surprise Ice Beam that took Equineus to 17HP. Horn Leech returned the turtle to its unrevived state.
Jellicent was a whole other ballgame. I entrusted its dispatching to Gladius and his fists of thunder. After losing half it's health to one punch, Jellicent used Scald, successfully burning Gladius. What followed was an embarassing display. Hyper Potions, Thunderpunches, and Recovers flew as I resisted using a turn to just heal the fucking burn. Finally, running out of PP and potions to continue the silliness, I cured the burn. Scald, of course, reburned it. This cycle repeated once more before I gave up and sent in Ambagesque, still frozen.
Incidentally, he unthawed immediately and Power Whipped the Pringles Fish.
Equineus then finished off the elusive Politoed. Thankfully, no tears were added to the wet extravaganza that was this battle.
