Digivolving 10 times every 15 minutes is tedious and soulless (I lost track of my starter digimon after an hour). The side quests and story were all bland, C-tier anime writing. The difficulty is easy piss easy or you can turn it to hard mode where you're basically forced to grind before every boss. I couldn't even beat it because how tedious and bland it was, and I somehow managed to beat SWSH and its DLC.
The only good Pokemon alternative is a dead series that barely even made it in the west.
