Survival Challenge complete.
I'm not here in an attempt to persuade recruits. I am completely satisfied with my challenge, and so this post concludes the Survival Challenge, at least for me.
That said, this playthrough was one of the most fast-paced, entertaining, and suspenseful styles I've experienced. There were times where I thought I was -- for lack of a better word -- completely fucked. Tate and Liza decimated my team down to two. Groudon massacred my party in one fell swoop; it was my Blaziken that delivered the final blow, but the match had cost me every Revive I had left (if I had not used Flash with Manectric, its EQ would have ended my challenge then and there). I considered catching it, but alas, I decided against it for the sake of the challenge -- a costly choice. I had to use Rare Candies to rehabilitate those who would fight on.
Wallace himself scored critical hits and Freeze hax, leaving me to score my final badge with only Blaziken remaining. I limped through Victory Road, with no Revives and few healing supplies. At this point, all of my supplies and TMs were focused on bettering Blaziken and Sharpedo; they were the fighters who would slaughter the Elite Four and Champion with (after substantial grinding) ease.
In total, my team was healed a total of three times. Once at home, again above Mauville, and a final time at the Weather Institute. From thereon -- the remaining 3 Badges and E4 -- I was forced to carry on with items found.
But it is possible.
And so, I leave these rules with you, /vp/, in hopes that this challenge will be experienced further. The feeling of winning this uphill struggle is incredible.
