It's also different than Johto because when gen 5 came out people had attachment to oldmons. That wasn't there yet for Johto. And the idea of there being MORE than 150 Pokemon was what everybody wanted. Look at everyone marking out for Ho-Oh, Togepi, Donphan,
Pikablu etc. By gen 5 it was expected that there would be new Pokemon so it wasn't as exciting.
