Beat the 4th gym leader on the first try, and I have to say that the latest story arc was a definite step up in quality from the last three - more focused on a couple of characters and their problems, less focused on bizarre alternate universe shit and pretending a certain character is dead when she very obviously isn't. Or, for badge 2, rehashing a convoluted version of Reborn's Kiki/Cal/Victoria subplot. I do find it a bit weird that the evil team is finding all these random legendaries to commandeer - it makes them less special if you have "a Giratina" or "a Mewtwo" as random sub bosses.
Gameplay wise, though, everything is good - I traded some retarded kid a Phantump for an Aevian Litwick and bred discharge and clear smog onto it for damage and utility, respectively. Going to level it to 40 as I play through chapter 5 and see what else the game throws at me.
