Your use of Iron Defence inspired me to try someone new in Sacred Ruins: Maractus.
Two uses of Cotton Guard cuts damage to about a quarter, Growth helps your damage output a bit, Absorb is good for recovery, and Pin Missile is a multi-hit ranged move.
Plus Water Absorb means you have less to fear from Alomomola, Cloyster, and Pelipper.
I got a bit lucky with a Mobility emera, but the happy dancing cactus is pretty damn good.
