Pokemon evolution is just growing up from a child like form, to and adult.This is wrong from the start, as it's clearly shown that Pokemon can mature and go their entire lives without evolving. There's even Gen 1 artwork showing newly-hatched Nidoran. And of course, there's the baby Kangaskhan in the mother's pouch.
Regardless of whether they evolve, Pokemon still grow up like regular animals.
