>>53624590I'm a bad person to try and get the baseline opinion from, my weird quasi-religious beliefs about art make me an outlier here and I try to be very careful about how I use other people's creations when it's more than just a short/joke appearance
but it seems for the most part people just ask for input on if anything should be changed after it's already written instead of before, and just know not to do anything crazy with others' characters or make up backstories for them or anything, worst case scenario they see an inconsistency in how they were written and tell you to change a line or two
I'm fine with my characters being used, just don't touch the subject of either of their pasts while I'm still developing it
Ronnie is an inconsequential shitpost character and my one and only limit is don't evolve him because I have a big shitpost planned for his evolution
>>53626374Just make yourself a character, a real-world human who has suddenly woken up as a Pokémon in the PMD world (does not have to actually be based on yourself). Do what I did, get right into writing their introduction story where they don't encounter the guild at all yet and are only implied to end up joining it at the end, it buys you some time to read up on the bare minimum and you won't have to know shit about anyone's characters or the guild until your SECOND story because none of it will even appear until then.
>>53626421>RPinaccurate, it is a collaborative writing project. in-character interactions are handled by a single writer in a prewritten work instead of in real time in the thread.
The distinction is important because our thread will be nuked off the board if the line is ever crossed. I've seen it happen.
