Fanfic writers won't even resort to it, why do they expect us to take it without cringing? I'd genuinely rate Leon as one my favourites if he wasn't entirely one-dimensional (yeah, I know, common point about the Champions and NPCs, but after 20+ years they could've done a lot to expand on the plot of sw/sh considering it was the very first switch games and tons of us oldfags would've bought it for that alone if not for the dexcut, and also Leon is written with like, almost no room at all to headcanon shit unlike the other champions. All exposition but no hidden depths)
