What's going on here? Where did I mess up? I fought Clair, fucked off to travel around the region and catch and evolve Pokemon to get my dex numbers up, then went to fight the Elite Four, and only Ho-Oh was even on par with the weakest Pokemon they had. I was tempted to just reset and import some of my old mons over, but I want to 100% each gen using only the new Pokemon introduced (which is why I'm using Ho-Oh, because there isn't a gen 2 Fire type in Johto). The sheer level difference didn't make the E4 challenging so much as irritating - I ended up having to use Sacred Fire on Gyarados to burn it, then switch to Feraligatr and spam healing items. I'll give it a few more runthroughs, but this is a serious step down from gen 1 in my opinion. A shame, because I quite like Johto, but this is a very poor way to end my stay there.
