I just beat Red in crystal and it was a fucking BATTLE.
I was grinding up my team of Feraligatr, Gengar, Slowking, Umbreon and Snorlax and was going to use an onix I got from Mt. Silver for his Pikachu.
I lost Snorlax while grinding the elite four at level 59! Disaster!
So I got pissed and decided to use my rare candies and just fight Red. Fuck it. Just fuck it.
Final team was:
Bepis the Feraligatr lv 62
Mr. Knox the Slowking lv 62
Tsushima the Gengar lv 64
Enoch the Umbreon lv 62
Gibraltar the Onix lv 48
a random electrode from rocket hideout that I sacked to Charizard during the fight.
Onix trolled pikachu to death in like 30 turns lol
I let it die to Espeon then Umbreon obviously came in and walled for days
He sends in Snorlax. I try to toxic/confuse ray troll it for a bit and he uses rest, it didn't work out so I went into Gengar.
Mean look then curse, two moves I'd had to keep on him since the very beginning and it finally paid off and I killed the fatass.
Red sends Venusaur to be 2HKO'd by my Gengar's psychic.
Then Charizard comes out.....with sun up already.
I sack Electrode, go into Feraligatr and unfortunately lose him to a crit flamethrower +fire spin chip, but gengar is able to come in and pick him off with thunder punch.
Finally, blastoise. I go for curse yet again (I had leftovers equipped so I got back to full on snorlax), and then go into Slowking to sit on him for a couple more turns.
Only Slowking and Gengar survived the end, but it was an epic battle.
On to the next. I'm thinking possibly Red/Fire Red or....something else. Give suggestions please! This was a really fun nuzlocke aside from a lot of grinding. Gengar was the MVP the whole run pretty much. 40 hours of playtime!
