>>27907237I've played every generation of Pokemon as they've come out and I've only seen 2 wild shinies that weren't guaranteed (e.g. red Gyarados in gen2 & remakes, shiny Dratini in W2) and those 2 were chain fished in X and one was a luvdisc. I've hatched thousands of eggs with the Masuda method and gotten no shiny. I've dicked around in friend safaris for days and gotten no shiny. I've gotten shinies through trades but outside of hours of virtual fishing I've never even seen a shiny in my own games.
TL;DR: Don't ever count on seeing a shiny.
