It's hard loving Rock types. They're defensively built, but are hindered by a ton of weaknesses.
Their moves are strong but inaccurate, and so are dismissed.
They seem to hinder every type their paired with, such as the defence-god type Steel, or the king of special coverage Ice.
Yet they're not shit enough to garner pity and underdog love, like Bugs, Ice types and Grass types. They just okay-ish enough to rarely be on anyones mind when people think of types in need of aid. They succeed just enough that everyone seems to forget about their glaring weaknesses.
Maybe one day they'll have it their time at the top, in the metagame and in the minds of players.
