I've seen this sucker take a critical focus punch from a Breloom and keep fighting. And guess what? He has Recover, which means if your foe has a pansy-ass physical attacker out, he can heal harder than they can hurt, and then retaliate with 117 base attack Avalanches and Earthquakes.

Avalugg has Strdy, which means he survives the hit.
Ever heard of Mirror Coat? Yeah, that means not only does he hang on, but he sends back the damage times two. Coming off of 95 HP stat, that'll kill pretty much any special attacker.
Oh, and he is not only the biggest Ice type pokemon, he's the biggest Gen VI pokemon.
