Something that is most certainly unexplored territory. In which case, perhaps we should come up with a prompt for writers to explore this avenue of thought in the next thread if someone is willing to post it as an idea to be explored.
Such as in Watership Down, where rabbits have no concept of numbers greater than four due to having only four paws, and the consequence of such when exploring how they function as "sapients". I.E: How they have little understanding of what humans do what they do, or the fact that they are under the belief that cars are "animals" of sorts.
I still am of the opinion that there isn't anything inherently harmful in depicting Pokemon as costumed humans, especially if the writers of such fics have little capabilities in pulling such depictions off, at least if the story is good enough to be read. With this in mind however, I have come to an understanding of why you seek to have more diversity in the exploration of Pokemon themselves when depicting them as sapients in their own right that is distinct from human intelligence. As such, we as writers should at least endeavor to explore such things as a writing prompt in the next thread.
With regards to you, I have to say that at the very least you should have brought up such examples like the links I have posted to better explain your position. That way it can help better facilitate an understanding between anons of this thread. Hopefully this concept shall be explored to some degree. With this in mind, I shall attempt to incorporate some elements of xenofiction in my own work.
