When the gameplay isn't serviceable, it's also bad. I'd say this game is maybe 60% kind of 'okay Pokemon game', 40% 'annoying'. No repels for the first section through a mine with a high encounter rate. Stealth section prisonshit fun times. The game being frequently vague where you're supposed to go while at other times holding your hand through a tiny linear cave. Sidequests that are often completely useless and flesh out none of this presumably interesting setting but you're encouraged to do anyway on the offhand they might give you a good reward this one time. QoL like the move relearner or IV increasers is all over the map and you're not given Fly, so go fuck yourself if you just need to grab something to beat one shitty boss.

The battles are similarly a mess. Healing item spam, midbattle effect spam, levels higher than cap. I'll give the two fights of this game that are clearly supposed to be the hardest (the edgyrival and labfaggots) are the hardest, but in all just the wrong ways. Not even because the fights themselves are hard, but because of how annoyingly far the game makes you go if you need to adjust your shit, or because you have to fight a no heal gauntlet and gradually try and figure out a strat for a second team that will require spending hours on the first redoing the same stupid fucking fight over and over.

I can't call this gam outright bad, maybe Bunken will, but I think there's enough charm and enough of something enjoyable here at the core intact enough here for most people to interact with well. I can call it below average, and I don't really have any optimism for the future update. 3-4/10 and I'd drop it to the bottom of the mediocre tier, at least until I redo this list

This game is basically kids sharing rumors about Mew under a truck, but Mew IS actually under said truck. And all the other crackpot theories like beating the league 25 times without healing to get Mewthree or scientists in Mossdeep allowing you to go to space for Deoxys and Jirachi, are also real, you just have to work them out.
It does, on some level, recapture the feeling of finding this hidden thing that no one else knows about and then sharing it with your bros. If maybe not perfect in execution I respect the concept.

IF this kind of brutal and unforgiving design scratches an itch for you, IF 'stumbling upon a unintuitive solution to an obtuse problem with no real hints' makes you feel accomplished, I would say play this game. It is a lot more interesting than the 'retry a battle 100000 times and slowly restructure your team to counterteam my boss or get the right RNG checks' design like you'd see in a Demice/Moto mod in what's demanded of you. Just understand that what the main game goes for, and what the postgame is doing are two very different things despite the overarching connections, and that even within the paradigm I'm talking about, this game definitely does fall short.

I genuinely don't know what to rate this game, for the above reason that postgame and maingame are just plainly not the same thing. I think I said 4/10 the last time we played this and I think that still holds up for me (as well as my tierlist spot), but for some people this might be life altering, while to others it might be the worst thing ever created. I don't know. Just what a bizarre adventure from start to finish

decided to ultimately tier the grovyle game, because A. i tiered saiph which was even less of a game, B. saying i don't have good reading comprehension wasn't very nice, grovylethethief :(
but no yeah seriously unless i decide to remove saiph (which i might because the fag's going to do a remake of it apparently) there's no reason a similar game shouldn't be up there
i genuinely struggled with putting covenant above full moon kek, i think it'll comfortably drop when that game gets more content

anyway for the anon up there who's not a retard that cares about extreme autism over tier placements, yeah, pretty much what RG said, feel free to try out any game here, just know there's a reason why the lower ones are where they are kek. and a lot of the lower ranked ones go very directly against the criteria you set

you just want to replace what's in your empyrean folder, with what you downloaded for the mod
if that doesn't work, it's not really a big loss unless you want to do the extremely autistic endgame content
