They made it seem like we would be able to pick which gyms to collect our 8 badges from, or at least have a bunch of gyms in the post game, but it turns out the just fucking lied. Even “in lore” these other gyms aren’t seen or even talked about, unless you count Klara/Avery saying they WANT to be a gym leader. I’d actually forgotten about the 18 gyms thing and now I’m mad about it all over again.
