Consider that save bonuses aren't the same as event distributions.
They're merely thank yous for the people who own past games.
I like them, because it's an extra reward on top of what I got in the original game. If you didn't put the time into playing the game then I don't think you deserve to reap the benefits.
It's not like save bonuses are replacing event distributions, so what's the problem? Either you get rewarded for buying and beating the game, or you wait until the distribution is in your favour. Simple as.
