I had an idea for an evolving Tyrogue that I posted in a previous thread on /v/. I'm gonna post it again here to get your guys opinion on it.
Tyrogue would work like this. It would have a unique meter that is filled up with "power points" (pp) from attacks landed and "block points" (bp) from attacks blocked. This meter is separate from the "mega mode" meter. (like how little mac has a unique KO meter in Smash Bros). When it's filled you can evolve into Hitmonchan if the meter is >=60% pp or Hitmonlee if the meter is >=60% bp. Else you turn into Hitmontop. Hitmonchan is a glass cannon with powerful elemental punches. Hitmonlee has quick blocks and good combos with his kicking and stretch kick attacks and Hitmontop is somewhere between the other two.
Tyrogue gets a focus blast attack that coverts some bp into an attack to help it get more pp in the meter. It also has move where you spend some power points to create a passive defensive buff were the damage it absorb gives some block points. that way you can get the right mix before you evolve.
