Sinnoh tells a story about the importance of mythology and spirituality to a local culture. Pay attention to the continued presence of statues and monuments dedicated to Legendary Pokemon in this game, as compared to others. Eterna's Statue is the most obvious one, but it's far from the only one. Places like the Solaceon Ruins with messages cavred out in Unown lettering. Celestic Town Ruins with ancient cave paintings. Arceus' plates being scattered dotted all over the map, telling you the story of how the world came to be. The foreign building and Sinnoh League being modeled after holy cathedrals, with locals all talking about how life is a gift not to be taken for granted. It's all fitting for a Region where God physically made itself known to humanity many years ago. They are literally closer to the divine than any other Region, and the whole place is a living monument to that history.
