Is it just me, or is the typing of most of the Gen 1 pokemon incomprehensible?
>Butterfree
Oh, it must be Bug/Psychic, right? Nope! It's Bug/Flying
>Beedrill
Oh, well if Butterfree was Bug/Flying then this must be too, right? Nope! It's Bug/Poison. Really, this is an issue with the entire fucking bug type. I can just barely justify Parasect being Bug/Grass and Venomoth being Bug/Poison.
>Aerodactyl
>Charizard
>Gyaradose
These are fucking Dragons, don't try to argue otherwise.
>Pretty much anything with a Ground or Rock typing
If you can explain the pattern between these then you're a better man than me. There's no pure Rock types and I've got no idea why they've made some 'mons pure Ground instead of Ground/Rock. Speaking off...
>Kabutops
Why the fuck is this part Water?
>anything Flying/Normal or Normal/Flying
What the fuck? Why not just make them pure Flying? Why are there no pure Flying type pokemon?
>all of the Ghosts are part Poison
'nuff said
>Golduck is pure Water instead of Water/Psychic
This one is a genuine shame, he could've been great.
>Seadra is pure Water instead of Water/Flying
This is just plain confusing.
>Nidoking/Nidoqueen are part Ground for some reason, despite the earlier evolutions feeling more like they were part Fighting
>Porygon is pure Normal
Seriously?
>Seel is pure Water, but Dewgong is Water/Ice
This make me want to complain about Lapras.
>Tangela is the only pure Grass type
I bet that most people get confused when they find that Psychic isn't SE against this. Mind, the problem is probably more the fault of the Grass/Poison types than it is Tangela's
>Zubat isn't Bug type
Honestly I can kind of justify this. After all, bats aren't bugs, but come on!
Really, is it just me that's bothered by this? Secretly, most of my anger stems from the fact that I've recently started playing Stadium, and I've noticed that I don't actually know most of the Gen 1 typing, despite having beat the handheld games countless times.
