X looks more like Charizard to me than Y. Y is all slimmed down and airy, but Zard was always kind of a stocky, aggressive sort of 'mon. X takes that original idea to the next level. Even the blue fire, which references the GSC Pokedex entry. Unironically my favorite Mega Evolution.
