The original Regis were great and one of the best sets of legendaries in the series. They had a consistent theme that linked them all together, great designs, and cool lore.
Regigigas was a good addition because it added to the original trio without being shoehorned in with them, also had a good design, and expanded the lore in a way that made perfect sense.
The new Regis don't feel consistent with the originals thematically (or even one another), have designs that clash horribly, and while we don't know their lore yet I can't imagine it'll be anything that makes any sense considering it's modern Game Freak.
