She was LITERALLY studying the visible speciation of pokemon types in response to the unique tropical microclimates of the Orange islands. It would be a HORRIBLE waste for the series to not bring her back for ALOLAN variants when she was originally name dropping such a topic in the series so fucking long ago.
I've got mixed feelings over whether or not whoever's in charge of the anime would remember such a thing, but if they did I'd flip the fuck right out.
