I was worried about the level gap in the E4 until I remembered that Badgeboosts are still a thing in these gens. This team did WAYYY better than I thought it would for pretty much every fight. Lorelei was taken down, Hypno solo'd Bruno, Agatha was a little messy but Sandslash cleaned it up, and I really thought I would need Lapras for Lance but Sandslash eats hyperbeams for breakfast and hit everything super effectively + swords dance. Only scary parts of the rival champion fight were Alakazam, Exeggutor, and Blastoise, but I had a good enough answer for it all.
I'm comparing the original to the remake, and I think I had a little more fun with the OG than the remake. I can't put my finger on why exactly though. It might be that its still fresh on my mind while I finished FireRed last year. I'm going to go play crystal next.
