Lucian starts his fight with Mr. Mime who uses reflect, and light screen. His Espeon then has a way to counter dark-types with Signal Beam, and ghost types with Shadow Ball. At the time Steel resisted Dark-types, and psychic resisted fighting types which made Bronzong a beast to deal with. It could Earthquake through fire-types. His last two Pokemon Alakazam and Gallade had cover for fighting-type Pokemon, and good move coverage all around. This is a strong well built team. This is what older games had.
Raihan? 3 weather teams rolled into one. You're going to blow through them before they even finish setting up becuase three of them are weak to water and only one of them can cover the typing. Goodra has a terrible moveset and no way to counter dragon, fairy, or ice. Duraludon is the ONLY good Pokemon on his team and the only one that has a worthwhile moveset but it doesn't even have cohesion with the weather concept. These are just 5 Pokemon tossed on a team that any idiot could deal with.
Just like with Allister it does nothing to challenge the player. Platinum's E4 is ALL like this. They don't even wait to use their aces they'll send them out at any time in the battle. Bertha's Wishcash is also such a great fuck you moment because any unaware kid going in with a water-type expecting to roll through is going to get caught off guard instantly.
