I'm using a dry battery to abuse the RNG in Ruby - I got the trainer ID right, and found the frame I need to get the shiny starter- I swear I've hit the frame before and after it a dozen times.
Is it really hard to hit the exact frame or am I doing something really fucking wrong?

They could have given Ampharos Tail Glow and it would have been a better buff than the gimmick form while also taking all of 10 seconds to put in the game.
