>>39552527King sweeped Wulfric with relative ease, however everything would fall apart at Victory Road.
Foolishly lost Haru to a Steelix Earthquake, but everything else was ridiculous. The veteran trainer's Leafeon set up Swords Dance into Double-Edge against Dogo, King got taken out by a Trevenant and Gigalith combo of Curse -> Earthquake -> Protect, and Lita missed Fly during a pivotal moment against another Veteran trainer when his Snorlax boosted with Power-Up Punch.
The conundrum with Victory Road in this game is that trainer's are ridiculously strong and have all kinds of coverage, but if you wanna train, the wild Pokemon will fuck you up. Graveler's know Explosion, you have random dragons like Druddigon, and I lost my Kuma to a fucking Destiny Bond Haunter. If you lose all your viable party members, then you can't even really safely grind your back ups too. I think this context I think Kalos has one of the hardest Victory Roads by far. The trainers and wild Pokemon will fuck you up (in fact I'd say the Double Battles, Ace, and Veterans are harder than every gym leader)
Now I'm left with this. I thought about doing a big brain strategy and getting one of those trade Eevee's you find in Hotels, but I'd say this run is effectively over. It's a shame too cause I was actually enjoying my replay of Kalos...
