According to those sinnoh folk lore books, pokemon and humans used to be considered the same. They even got married. So, it only makes sense humans would be part of egg groups. And the most sensible ones are human-like, for obvious reasons, and Field, because we match the criteria and it's kinda the go-to basic one.
