black finished! the elite four were easy outside of marshal. N took some strategy, but mainly just to juggle heals. Got pretty lucky with Ghetsis with Timmy's poison touch coming in the clutch to take down hydreigon AND elektross.
team thoughts: fun team to use, seismitoad absolutely ruled, serperior made a solid stall/tank, liepard made a decent glass canon, beartic was absolutely money in the late game. chandelure was as good as advertised, swoobat didn't do a lot of heavy lifting in the late game but was a good team member in the early and mid game.
first unova run impressions: unova was actually very very fun, i didn't expect to enjoy it as much as i did. having an entirely new dex to work with made it fun, the new TM mechanic grew on me after initially being reserved about it, the overall region wasn't anything spectacular but wasn't bad either. i liked that the gym leaders had more personality outside of their gym; gyms functioning as other buildings was a cool spin.
