I'm 5 badges in and I'm still reeling. losing Floatzel earlier was a huge loss.

I'm losing too many moderate-investment mons in too little time. this is the part of the game you're expected to be above Lv. 30 to be good standing, and my guys are barely meeting that standard. on the positive note: I did learn a lot of good things for future runs, like how Floatzel learns Ice Fang through the move reminder. I guess I'll try to replace Floatzel by raising a Magikarp last minute. not sure if I'll make it in time since I'm almost halfway done with the game. the future of this run is looking shaky at best, but my mood is still good.
