It evolves into this massive dinosaur-like beast, maybe gets a tail as well, all the intricate armor-like scales that rhyhorn has are lost in its rhydon evolution and the Gen 4 cross-gen evo just makes it look like it at a Golem.

Sneasel's cross-gen evo completely killed it. Sneasels are supposed to be fast and sneaky, giving it a stupid looking crown and making it fatter completely kills the vibe. I wouldn't mind a sneasel evolution if it remained as slender and mischievous looking as its prevo, maybe giving it an Anubus kind of vibe albeit less human-like (Lucario was a mistake).
