What's the deal with comp-fags (or at least smogon-fags?)? They're like melee-fags, too comfortable or afraid to ever actually diverge away from the general meta-game that's existed for years while pretending to care about the competitive integrity of the game, by simply banning portions that they think might stand to risk a new development.
