>>47507002After a long day's work, I sat against the closest Oran Tree, exhausted but satisfied. My Piplup happily waddled over to me, handing me a berry and excitedly chirping about something. I pet the little guy - is it a guy? I still can't really tell, to be honest. Maybe I should ask him or use that Pokedex for once - on the head when that girl came running over to me again.
"Hey, I finished the south end. Are you sure you won't change your mind?"
Sighing, I push myself back up and turn towards her before responding. "This is the most realistic, stable job I can think of. Besides, I'm not fuckin' with any of those legendaries, Sara."
Sara squinted her eyes and leaned forward, hands-on-hips as the telltale signs of a lecture began to emerge. "I know you've still got a stick up your ass about going home but that doesn't mean that we can't go out on an adventure! Just a small one! We're stuck here, so we might as well-"
I started tuning out the kid's voice and turned to look at the field that I'd been working on for the past seven months. Hundreds of berry trees were neatly organized by variety and usage, all regularly tended to by the various water and grass types that I had caught when I first set out to this small field. Getting land ownership was surprisingly easy, although I guess it shouldn't be too shocking since most Trainers choose to roam the world while competing in League Challenges, Contests, or whatever else grabs their collective interest. After that, all it took was a ten-day trip from Sandgem and spending far more time than I'd care to admit gathering enough berries to start the farm.
"-and even if we don't know where the others are, what about your Pokemon? What do they think? Hey, are you ignoring me again? I'll-", continued Sara.
"Fine," I grumble.
Sara stopped in her tracks and looked upwards at me, before shakily asking "Really?".
"Yes, tomorrow. Might as well start selling some of these," I say, gesturing towards the manmade forest.
