Legends is using the BOTW engine. Pay close attention to the trailer. UI is the same. Physics are the same (when Dawn gets hit by Luxray it looks and sounds exactly like Link getting hit in BOTW), sound effects are the same (menu sound effects, go re-watch). They're not being inspired by BOTW they're literally using the same engine.
