Of course I started with Gold, so I am extremely biased towards Gen 2. All of my nostalgic moments were in Gen 2, whereas all of my "god damn this game is dildos" moments were in Gen 1, Yellow specifically. I've been able to replay Red via emulators and enjoyed it, but god damn man.
tl;dr Drunk poster on 4chan thinks Gen 1 is HIGHLY overrated, could never finish it as a kid.
