I mean, except for a few obvious falseflaggers on this board, it seems pretty obvious:
Incineroar gets the movie hype, Litten is Masuda's starter of choice this gen alongside getting a nice arc in the anime and concept art confirms this Litten will fully evolve, and in terms of merchandise Incineroar figurines and promo art keeps coming out more frequently and sooner than Decidueye stuff, to say nothing of the furor over Decidueye's plush.
Primarina's far better competitively and has even had talk on an OU analysis in Smogon, while the Decidueye thread infamously went on and on as people tried to make it OU in tiers. Not to mention its fanbase seems far more prominent than Decidueye's, if the constant selling out of Primarina merch is any indication. At best, it's just Rowlet that's popular in comparison.
And yes, Decidueye has Pokken, but that is widely considered to be so dull and unpopular that a quick scan of google reveals one of the first articles about it is it being pulled from a Japanese arcade due to sheer unpopularity, and the fact that Decidueye is "starring" in a mere port, not a sequel or anything.
With Gen VIII on the horizon due to the Switch announcement, It just seems like beating a dead horse to act like Decidueye was the next Greninja or Charizard, when at best it's achieved maybe meme status in the pokemon community. It's genuinely impressive the starter everyone hailed as "the best" failed to achieve its would-be potential. But I'm curious how you guys are taking all of the above, would you tell me what it's like?
