Lets say that the new Stadium game is entirely dependant on Home 'mons (ignoring the elephant in the room that is the fee to use Home.) If Game Freak fucks it up and makes it so that moves are reset when added to HOME and not when transferred to a different game, it completely invalidates any and all effort people put into making Stadium-ready 'mons.
Currently it looks like it just happens when you transfer Pokemon from games that are not from PLA/BDSP (so a Pikachu going into PLA or BDSP from any source gets reset) but SWSH just says you have to unlearn incompatible moves from in-game after the fact.
Considering that SWSH are older games comparatively, it's safe to say that this wasn't planned up until recently, and that SV will absolutely utilize it in similar fashion to PLA/BDSP.
I miss Iwata.
