knew i could defeat clay so i just did it
>sent in kairon irse against his krokorok
>begin charming it down as it uses torment (in hindsight really should have paid more attention to this fucking move)
>torment makes it so that setting up 6 growths with kairon irse takes a really damn long time, all while the krokorok sets sandstorms and nabs a crit or two with crunch, thank god i had leftovers instead of miracle seed like i originally planned
>time killing it so that sandstorm ends right as it dies
>he sends in onix so i try to seed it before giga draining as i'm afraid of explosion and sturdy
>i learn that torment applies to the last move your mon tried to use, not your selected action - so after missing a seed, i had to waste several turns getting flinched by the onix's rock slides trying to use charm before i could use seed again
>wipe sandslash and excadrill with a giga drain each, of course having to dodge two crits from each of them thanks to torment
Very sloppy and definitely dodged one too many crits there, but eh, I had backup. Clay's battle is rough without a good counter to the Excadrill and I managed a deathless here.
