By that metric, we aren't allowed to criticize games like Minecraft, or gachashit, because children and consoomers (respectively) play them. By those metrics, we aren't allowed to say apple hardware is overpriced trash just because they have a blindly loyal userbase who enabled them to keep producing actual shit up until this point.
