>>45896906I see her amateurish-looking style as part of the larger trend among Japanese artists during the 90s. They're clearly capable of producing good artwork, but so much of it is objectively ugly yet has a certain nostalgic charm to it. It's definitely intentional, just not for everyone.
Thankfully trends change. Her current work is still very soft and cute but shows refined technical skill.
