Whatever, here's my blogpost on why X/Y sucks
X/Y are ruined by terrible pacing. I replayed them some months back after not having touched them for a decade and spent most of the game wondering when I would be let off the leash and allowed to do what I wanted to. But that doesn't happen until after beating Laverre's gym, which is so late into the game that I'd already gotten bored of it by that point, the whole thing just feels so inorganic. Even Sun/Moon, with all its handholdy, unskippable cutscene bullshit lets you off the hook about a quarter-ways through the campaign.
X/Y aren't terrible games, but pretending as if they're better than any of its predecessors is just incorrect.
