>>46318690Probably live my normal life without much changes. Maybe have a Pokebro. I might've tried to get a Gardevoir waifu at some point because spergs on here kept talking about it. Maybe I'd have a Machoke to spot me.
That's assuming Pokemon don't have some larger effect on society. The Lake of Rage in gen 2 was nearly a disaster. The town would've been destroyed in minutes. If an angry Gyarados rampages there's fuck all anyone can do about it until the military gets there, and countries like my own wouldn't be able to stop it at all. That's a worse case scenario.
Fire type Pokemon would probably be regulated in many places if not plain banned, you'd need permits to own one above a certain size, electric types like Pikachu would probably be required to have their electric sacks removed. I figure a lot of governments would restrict the use of psychic types in certain areas in case somebody teaches one to read minds.
Cultures might have developed weirdly. Supposedly, one of the factors that helped our ancestors wipe out Neanderthals was that we domesticated dogs. I imagine that this advantage would be even more pronounced with more intelligent, battle ready creatures like Pokemon. Having warriors that use Lucarios, Machamps and other fighting types would put you so far ahead of the competition it's likely the only groups left would be the ones who used similar tactics. I imagine some countries would have national Pokemon like how they have national animals, though it would probably be more about practical.
There'd be some that would suffer. Judging by how humans treat exotic animals some Pokemon would get fucked. Obviously Piloswine would get hunted for their ivory, but I could see the Gardevoir line being targeted in Asia for their horns, Magnemite being farmed for their metals or electricity. If dragon types were common enough not to be mythical then they would certainly be hunted in the same areas.
I could go on but this is already pretty autistic.
