What if they implemented that the markings on the eggs indicated the pokemons primary type? e.g. electric types with yellow marks instead of the green, fire is orange-red, poisons purple, etc. It would still keep some of the mystery without having obvious pokemon markings but you know what type to expect without knowing the actual pokemon itself if its something like an egg run.
