Pretty sure Game Freak is just going to trust the fans to come up with their own conclusions considering that Dialga, Palkia, and Arceus all end up in your possession so there isn't a reason that you can't just go back at any moment and that you can't just take Ingo home either. It isn't explicitly said you're stuck there as much as it isn't spelled out for you that you can go home at any given time. It's a cop out but it's Game Freak, what do you expect?
