Should I just bite the bullet and play Soul Silver or Heart Gold? I'm too used to the conveniences and lower difficulty of modern Pokemon games but I keep hearing Soul Silver and Heart Gold are the best in the series and I really badly want to have some kind of pokemon I like follow me already in the base game instead of having to pay for DLC or play some variation of gen 1. Plus a part of me thinks that, despite my complete lack of respect for this series and the people who run it, it might be nice to see the older days of Pokemon but with nicer graphics and tolerable instrumentation for it's music (gameboy music is ear-piercing).
