>>57731731 Crystal Clear is a bit controversial. I personally like it though. Here are my thoughts:
- The game being fully open means the gym leaders have 16 different difficulty levels and can be rematched.
- The game also features a very advanced Pokedex with one of my favorite additions in any romhack, a tool that lets you change the pallete of any Pokemon you want. There's also nickname/IV combos you can give certain Pokemon with preset colours (some of which correlate with useful Hidden Powers, you can get these all with Pkhex)
- You can also inject custom sprites for your protagonist, there's a lot of fan-made ones with a dedicated website. Asides from that there's still lots of character customization without it.
Finally there's some new story elements and things to discover related to Eusine and also the Ruins of Alph and a few new areas which I found pretty fun, but seeing it all isn't easy, you may need a guide.

- The game cuts out the original GSC storyline, making the gameplay feel very much like grind -> gym battle -> explore -> grind -> gym battle, ect., emphasis on the grind (I'd recommend just using candies).
- The entire E4 and Champion were replaced by self-inserts of Shockslayer and his friends (who are also scattered all over the region), which is a bit yikes.
- Ultimately this is still gen 2, mechanics and moves are all still the same. Depending on who you are this could either be a good or a bad thing. There is a super hidden Battle Tutor in Dark Cave (disappears when you use flash) that can teach most mons a ton of useful moves they normally can't learn.
- If you cross the street when you see minorities you might shit yourself playing this, the skin palletes of npcs have been randomized (not counting important trainers). Doesn't bother me, but it causes meltdowns with certain "types" here.
